February 21st Special Election Watch

On February 21st, Virginia will hold a special election to fill a vacancy in the U.S House of Representatives left by the late Rep. A. Donald McEachin. With an already slim majority by Republicans, this is one to watch.

Join a phone bank to mobilize Black voters with the non-partisan group Center for Common Ground. New to phone banking? No problem. There will be a training session.

On February 21st, Wisconsin will be holding a primary election for a seat on the State Supreme Court. The state’s divided government, shaped by heavily gerrymandered legislative maps, has spent the last several years paralyzed by dysfunction and gridlock on many issues including emergency COVID-19 policies, election rules, and the state’s political maps. While state supreme court elections are officially nonpartisan, the court is considered to have a 4-3 conservative majority and  will likely determine the fate of abortion rights in the state. The general election will be held April 4th.

We are teaming up again with VoteRiders to send Voter ID information letters to underrepresented Wisconsin voters ahead of this important election!
